The Guitar Workshop for Kids is designed for kids who have never played the guitar before but have a passion for music and a desire to learn. It would also suit any child who have tried the guitar before and would like to resume their musical journey. This workshop will provide the foundation skills for any aspiring guitarists that are keen to learn a wide range of music genres from classic rock to contemporary pop.

Previous musical knowledge or experience requirements are not required, the workshop welcomes all levels of beginners. Join your enthusiastic, patient and supportive tutor in a fun, relaxed, social and safe group with kids your own age that share similar interests. Inspire creativity, make new friends, build your confidence, and most importantly, enjoy yourself, all while learning the fundamentals of guitar.

Course Outline:

During the course you will:

• Learn how to tune your guitar.
• Learn about parts of the guitar.
• Learn how to correctly hold a guitar.
• Learn some basic chords.
• Learn how to read chord charts.
• Learn how to read guitar TAB.
• Learn rhythm and strumming patterns.

• Read and utilise chord charts and guitar TAB.
• Play a variety of chords.
• Understand rhythm and strumming patterns.
• Play a basic arrangements of a recognisable song.
• Have a strong foundation in guitar.
• Develop a greater understanding and appreciation of music.

About the Tutor:

'Playing and learning the guitar has been a long and enjoyable ride throughout my life. From practicing in my bedroom to playing in a band in front of family and friends in garages and back yard parties to performing at various live venues.

I have found the guitar to be a great source of relaxation and learning the guitar has been one of my proudest achievements. As an experienced player and tutor and I have managed to pass on my skills to many students, family, friends and my own children.

The lessons are held in a patient and supportive environment, and I appreciate that every student as an individual has their own learning abilities and needs.
