Nationally Accredited Courses

An AQF Certificate or Statement of Attainment issued by SGSCC, a Registered Training Organisation, assures that students are competent in the standards set by industry. A nationally recognised VET qualification (indicated by the Nationally Recognised Training [NRT] logo on the Certificate or Statement of Attainment) ensures a high quality of course delivery along with portability of qualifications that are recognised by employers and Registered Training Organisations throughout Australia.

Assessment is competency based which means that you will be assessed against industry agreed standards. You need to be deemed Competent for each Unit of Competency included in your qualification to qualify with your Certificate or Statement of Attainment.

You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and/or Credit Transfer. You are to apply for and have confirmed RPL and/or Credit Transfer prior to your course enrolment.

The RPL process recognises and assesses student’s skills, knowledge, experience and training (informal and formal) against the unit of competency requirements. You will be provided with a RPL Kit and you will be required to supply evidence and attend an assessment interview to support your RPL application.

The Credit Transfer process recognises and accepts units of competency previously completed by students from other Australian Registered Training Organisations. You may receive credit towards your SGSCC course if you have already been deemed Competent for the same unit of competency.

For information on how assessment is conducted as well as when and how you should apply for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer please refer to:

SGSCC is responsible for:

  • The compliance of training and assessment
  • Issuance of AQF Certificates or Statements of Attainment

SGSCC does not guarantee that a student:

  • Will successfully complete their qualification. The student is required to be deemed Competent for each unit of competency of a qualification
  • Can complete a qualification other than how SGSCC has planned its training and assessment strategies and practices consistent with the requirements of the relevant training package or accredited course
  • Will obtain a particular employment outcome on the completion of their qualification

In the event that SGSCC closes or ceases to deliver the training and/or assessment the student will be advised by SGSCC of their rights and as to how they are protected and avenues to continue and complete their course.
