Designed for the younger ‘budding creatives’, this program focuses on having relaxing, social fun with art and crafting mixed media techniques in a small group environment that promotes creative expression and the love for the creative arts.
Content:
Hands-on experiential creative art techniques using a range of mixed media mediums, guaranteed to have the kids enjoying creative time as a means of relaxing without the need of technology/devices. Kids will also be learning ways to be more creatively resourceful and thinking ‘outside the box’ through up-cycling and repurposing urban materials in their creative art projects and encourage them to use their creativity more freely when at school and at home.
Understanding and working with colour, Colour Mixing, Creative Art Techniques in Doodling, Drawing, Painting (canvas and or on other media), Creative Collage, Art Journalling/Diary and Mandalas.
Art media utilised include: coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, felt pens, coloured markers, pastels, acrylic paints, inks, magazine image cut outs, fabric, embellishments, art paper, craft wood, board and canvas, everyday urban and natural items found around the environment.
Suitable for age 8-14. All levels of creative and artistic flair welcome.
Facilitated by an Artist/Art Therapy and Wellbeing Facilitator.

About the tutor:
'Melissa Martin is a contemporary artist, and practices Art as Therapy. Mel runs local art classes/workshops for kids, adults and seniors through Learning and Community Centres, Gallery/Studios, as well as privately, where she explores with small groups their true creative selves and the potential they have and helps individuals shift into a creative space and feel confident about their artistic/creative flair and talents.'

To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
