Learn how to stay safe online, understand and recognise the threats the internet might present, the measures you can take to avoid them, and the tools available to protect you and your computer.

What You Will Learn:

  • What threats you might face online
  • Why I need to install security software on my device (laptop, desktop etc)
  • Choosing appropriate security software and updates
  • Does my phone have protection from viruses
  • Keeping yourself safe (security software is not enough) with passwords, passphrases multifactor authentication and password managers
  • Websites to visit for Cyber updates and support

What to bring:

  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Laptop if you have one

Who is this session for:

  • People over 60
  • People over 50 with a lifelong disability
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people over 50.

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
