You will be introduced to the wonderful medium of watercolour, the materials required to create your own watercolour as well as having the opportunity to use your newly gained knowledge to complete your own small watercolour under your tutor’s guidance.

Course Outline:

• Understanding the medium, which paints to choose, how to use them and take care of them.
• Understanding the materials required to paint with watercolour, including the correct brushes and paper to use.
• Learning the process of painting in watercolour, how to start and develop your painting.
• A brief overview of how to choose your subject matter.

• You will gain knowledge of the various types of paper to use.
• You will gain knowledge of the best types of brushes to use and how to care for them.
• You will learn how to set your painting up, prepare the work surface and begin your painting.
• You will complete a small painting to take home.
