AI for Senior Success - Years 10 to 12 - New!

This course supports senior students in developing advanced academic and digital literacy skills through the ethical and effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Students will learn how to use AI as a study partner — to plan, write, and edit essays, check originality, and analyse feedback — while maintaining their own creativity, academic integrity and exam readiness.

The course builds on the key skills required for assessment readiness and success in Years 10–12 and preparation for further study. It promotes responsibility, independence, and awareness of digital ethics, ensuring students understand how to use AI tools confidently and honestly within academic settings.

The curriculum is directly related to and complements:

  • Principles of Academic Integrity and Ethical AI Use
  • Study and Exam Preparation Skills for senior assessment

This course covers the following:

Academic Integrity and Ethical AI Use

  • Understanding what constitutes plagiarism and responsible AI use
  • Using Turnitin and other originality checking tools
  • Ethical guidelines for using ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Notion

AI for Essay Writing and Study Skills

  • Brainstorming and structuring essays using AI prompts
  • Building outlines and thesis statements ethically
  • Using AI feedback to improve clarity, cohesion, and grammar

Originality Checking and Feedback Analysis

  • Reading and interpreting Turnitin similarity reports
  • Editing for originality and avoiding over-reliance on AI text
  • Analysing AI or teacher feedback to refine writing quality

Exam and Assessment Readiness

  • Using AI for revision summaries and practice questions
  • Planning responses for essay-style exams
  • Reflecting on independent learning and time management

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, students will:

Entry Requirements:

Students currently in Years 10–12 who wish to enhance their essay writing, research, and exam preparation skills through the safe and ethical use of AI.
